Gamma Phi Beta History
Gamma Phi Beta was founded at Syracuse University in 1874. When the founders felt that they needed to create an organization to break the gender alienation on their campus, Gamma Phi Beta was born! GPhi is the first organization to be coined with the term sorority. Gamma Phi Beta was founded to be a welcoming and supportive environment for collegiate women, and it continues to be just that today!
