All About Kappa Kappa Gamma

Kappa Kappa Gamma, also known as KKG or Kappa is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). Kappa has strong values of sisterhood, living generously and promoting positive change in their communities. KKG greatly values their sisters and their relationship with each other, both during their collegiate years and throughout their lives long after graduation.

Kappa Kappa Gamma History

Kappa Kappa Gamma was founded on October 13, 1870 at Monmouth College. With the founders having a strong love of learning and literature, academics and leadership were, and still are, at the basis of this organization. With the Civil War just ending and women still not having the right to vote or hold political office, creating this women's fraternity was a huge accomplishment.

Kappa Kappa Gamma celebrates it's Founders Day on October 13th!

What is Kappa Kappa Gamma's Philanthropy?

Kappa strives to inspire positive change, mental health and well-being and these three aspects are their new philanthropic focus. Kappa Kappa Gamma Nationals has partnered with the following non-profit mental health organizations since August 2021:

  • Active Minds - strives to end the silence and change the culture surrounding mental health

  • The Jed Foundation - non-profit with the focus being on protecting emotional health

  • Mental Health America - non-profit addressing the needs of those living with mental illness

  • The National Alliance on Mental Illness - provides advocacy, support and public awareness for those struggling with mental health

  • The National Eating Disorder Association - dedicated to supporting individuals and families who have been affected by eating disorders
